Also, SpeedTV is showing an hour-long recap of every event on the Sunday evening of the rally. IIRC, broadcast time is 11pm (est).

In reply to HiTempguy:

Thanks, I will check it out. But it is still not the same as having it show up on my Tivo automatically, and most importantly in order. The problem is when I start searching for the videos I always end up running into a spoiler about who won the race. Plus watching the events out of order are spoilers in themselves.

But aside from that there are the best underdogs out there, Petter Solberg and Mads Otsberg. Both former Subaru and privateers
Petter is a factory Ford driver, not a privateer. He's also the only guy to ever beat Loeb for the world championship. And I cheer every time Mads does well, I like both those guys. Mikko vs Latvala will be good to watch, but we know how that's going to work out. Latvala will win some rallies and will fail to finish more of them. Latvala is a little bit unlucky, but I think a lot of that is self-induced. He's just a little careless, a little rough on the hardware. Mikko will be super-consistent and finish on top of the championship. Ogier will be an interesting guy to watch, I think he's still a bit immature and I don't know if he has what it takes to set up a brand new car. But he's got some speed, that's for sure.

Petter was a privateer recently after Subaru ditched the program, he is only very recently a factory driver. I disagree on you with Latvala, I like his charisma and I am incredibly jealous as someone 2 years younger than me being able to accomplish so much and I’m here grueling my lousy day job just to keep my rallycross habits alive. ANYWAYS! My original point, I think he is more reckless than careless, but that’s basically a synonym.

In unrelated/related topic, I would rather have Pastrana be the American WRC driver than Ken Blockhead for similar reasons as you dislike Latvala.

His crashing problem is from recklessness, but even when he keeps it on the road he has a lot of "bad luck". Flats, damaged wheels and suspension from rocks that come out of nowhere, steering problems, etc. I think he's just 6 inches off the good line much of the time and tends to eat rocks etc that others avoid. That's the careless part.

He has charisma, even if he is a bit fragile emotionally. It's not that I don't like the guy, I just don't think he's got what it takes to win the war. That takes consistent finishes which is not a strong point. A string of second places will beat a half dozen wins and a half dozen DNFs.I jus

Petter's been a factory driver for nearly two seasons now, and of course he was for several years with Subaru. The privateer phase was temporary (and remarkably successful), so I don't consider him a privateer.

Block knows he doesn't have what it takes to run at the front of the pack - but he'll admit it. Was it Mexico where he said he'd like to finish in the top 10, then finished 10th? I've come to appreciate what he contributes to the WRC, which is exposure to a completely different audience.

GTwannaB, I highly recommend subscribing to the WRC updates. Sure, they're not video. But you'll be involved in the race a lot more than you would be with end of day updates because you're following the race live instead of after it's all done.

Yeah you watch the footage and you tend to see him take more cuts and take lines in less forgiving terrain in efforts to catch a squeaky clean and fast Leob. Which from a spectators standpoint makes for great viewing, Just like in nascar the 2nd place isn't very exciting but the crashes are! But I agree that consistently crashing or placing runner up won't win a drivers championship.

Has it really been 2 years, man... seems like only yesterday.

Boy does the WRC time flyby fast when your having fun :)
