The prices people ask for a Cressida of any vintage it absurd. Damn near vulgar.

Yay for my hometown. I guess the price isn't crazy, but good luck finding someone to buy it. That is one heck of a pristine example, that is for sure.

It's pretty much like new. And Cressidas aren't getting anymore common. Unfortunately, it'd be too nice for me to tear apart and engine/trans swap.

Smoking crack. I don't care how nice and "nearly new" it is, it's still a 1990 Cressida, a 26 year old car nobody gives a crap about.

Actually, Cressidas have become pretty popular lately, so I don't know about the "nobody gives a crap about" part.

Busted. It's a 26 year old car that Ford/Mazda guys don't give a crap about. I love this place; it's nearly as good at keeping me humble as SWMBO is

If I found a manual one with no rust locally, I'd have some want.

Some wealthy guy with a 2JZ fixation will buy this, swap in a 1000hp 2JZ and a 6 speed. It will be on a tuning magazine cover next year. Guarantee it.

I owned an 87 Cressida and I've never understood the fascination with them. Sure it was a nice car---- it was comfy, reliable, and a great long-distance mile eater, but fun it was not.

The earlier cars-- like the one I had, are very much like a Japanese Mercedes. They feel solid and comfortable, but the steering, throttle, brakes....everything feels like it was dipped in molasses. It's slow to respond to all inputs--- I guess Toyota thought this felt like "quality" back in the 80s. Mine wasn't a worn out beater either---- it was a totally mint example that had been babied from new.

The feel heavy, don't handle all that well, and they sure aren't fast with the stock engine.

I'm pretty sure no one under 50 years old bought one new. (Mine was my Grandmother's) There was a reason for that. I'm not one to hate on any sort of auto enthusiasm. I just don't understand the Cressida love---- there are so many other cars to choose from.

More the reason why it is rare. Will it be worth something? Who knows, but it is certainly rare.

BTW HunterBenz, I know exactly where your avatar picture was taken. I always tell people new to the area to take that drive, you would think you are many miles from a major city.
