I still have never seen the latest version of the Z on the road. Not one.
I found a sales report for the first quarter of the year.
They only sold 671 of them, that means there are about 5 Cybertrucks for every Z car.

I this posted from the GRM FB and the comments are just people dumping on how the 400Z looks.
Why are we so negative? There's been a lot of ugly and boring cars, but I don't think this is one of them. I've seen a couple and they look good on the road. Definitely not as striking as the Supra though.

At the end of the day (and as long as there aren't any personal attacks towards GRM staff or anyone else), I'll take the engagement those comments give us. So, by all means, let the hate flow through you.

By some miracle of miracles, a neighbor up the road from me has one. Nice looking car in the metal if I'm honest. Would really like to see one in orange like shown above.
Ya, not negative at all. I am a big fan of Z cars..... I just have never seen the new version in the wild yet. Just a general observation.

I saw my first one last week parked at a business. So at least one in this town.
I've seen three total.
1x at Sebring as a pace car at the 2023 12 Hours of Sebring
1x in Las Vegas wrapped in a burble paint
1x on I-Drive in Orlando.
I've seen more cybertrucks. I heard they were kind of duds on track. Is that true? Also a cursory search is showing 0 for sale within a 100 mile radius of me.

With mods, they're quick.
This one shows up at our local auto-x, Nissan marketing team of some sort, and the guy turns quick times now. You can pull up the times on the SCCA website for Tucson, the car is there every month as far as I know.
Prices really coming down?
I see one all the time in our town of about 30k people. Then again, for a place that has 9 months of winter some years, we do have a pretty thriving car scene here, so I guess I shouldn't be too surprised.

I do feel the Nismo version is much improved, though. We haven't had that at our test track ... yet.
Such a shame to see what nissan was back in the days of Datsun and what it has become.
$6k for stickers, ebay fender extensions, different rims and a front end that tries to mimic what was once a great car. The new Z appears to be a total flop with the sales of the car at an all time low, only time I have ever seen them is at a ZCON.
Appears with nissan going completely electric their fate is sealed to become another failed brand like Pontiac, Oldsmobile, Plymouth, etc.
I had convinced myself I wanted to '23 Z. I wanted to reward a company for making a turbo, manual, mechanical LSD, RWD car in this age. As a long time Nissan Nerd, the year 23 had great significance. I loved the look, and started to make the case to SWMBO that I needed my first ever new car...
Then Nissan forgot to make any of them. The $tealerships did what $tealerships do: "Oh, you'll need to pay $16k over MSRP" when I inquired when they'd get them in. Then the nail in the coffin: The 'fun' colors were Tennis Ball and Old Man Maroon. womp womp
So I figured for the 55th anniversary they'd just try to deliver 55 to North America

It really is a shame when it feels like the dealership is actively working against you.
Nissan cant do anything without getting hate at this point. And im a huge nissan fan.
If they change a vehicle, the get hate for not changing sooner.

its gotten to be the cool thing to hate on Nissan yet if they went away people would mock them for going away.
I think it's a good looking car and dig the heritage orange color! I'm far too cheap to drop ~$60k on a car that was seemingly set up more as a cruiser and less as a sports car. For the money they're asking, I can't see buying this car over a Supra 3.0L, especially now that the Supra can be had with a manual. In my eyes, the Supra is a lighter, better handling, better looking sports car with the seemingly reliable and very potent B58 motor. For around the same money, there's no way I would even look at the Z over the Supra.
If you're looking for speed/power and amazing noises, the American V8 Pony Cars offer far more value than the Z, with the Z gaining so much weight that it tips the scales close to the pony cars these days.
In my mind, the Z lacks the world class sports car dynamics you get from the Supra, or higher priced Porsche 718/C8 Corvette... and it costs substantially more than the seemingly better performing V8 pony cars... for the life of me, I am not sure who they were marketing this car towards. To make this a compelling car to customers, I would think prices should be closer to the $45k mark for the Performance version (to get the LSD) and they should re-think their choice of suspension tuning.
I remember back in 2008 when Subaru launched the new at-the-time WRX. That car was a soft, mushy dud that received a boatload of negative press. Subaru sent their engineers back to the drawing board and the next year (2009), they re-launched the car with an extra ~41hp, stiffer suspension and more aggressive body lines, without adding much to the car's bottom line. Cheap car nuts rejoiced. I'm thinking Nissan should consider something similar.
The original 240Z looked a lot better than that car!

As much as I appreciate the new Z for existing, that's one of my biggest takeaways.
Sure, you can argue that the Supra and the Z are built for different missions, but both occupy the same market space and are available at similar price points.
Unless you really want a new Z-car, it's hard to ignore the Supra.

I'm not sure I've seen one of the Zs either. I might have seen one fairly shortly after introduction. In pictures, it's a nice clean design.

Ordered some oil filters online - stopped at Bill Kay Nissan to get them and just looking at these four Z's got the salesman out the door to greet me in 30 seconds. Just here for parts, my man.
Three of them are used, one manual and one was a new Nismo version @ $91,000 plus tax, title and fees ($20,000 adjusted market, paint sealant and LoJack).
