Not sure I ever saw an AWD, manual wagon before. Rather have RWD but seems like a good car for the money. Be a lot of fun in the winter!

That seems like a pretty decent price for that if it is just add gas and go. Even if it needs a little work probably a good deal. If it made it to 160k should be good for a while longer and likely had a bunch of the dumb stuff fixed. Jump on it

The transfer case that BMW used had a planetary gearset that had a fixed 33/66 torque split, because BMW insists that all of their cars have all of the handling issues that RWD brings even if they have the weight and inertia issues that come with AWD.  devil

Da Boss's sister's boyfriend has a manual 330xi.  It's an okay car but IMO it is uninspiring, and he brings it in every six months or so and spends $3k on it to fix niggling little things.  OTOH it is probably the nicest E46 in a very large radius BECAUSE he makes sure it is maintained well.  I guess he really likes the car.

As I understand it, you could only get the wagon with the 2.5l engine, AWD or not.
