To answer the original question, I got rid of the shell of a miata by posting on Craigslist, or maybe search craiglist for "junk cars" or the like. It didn't have an engine or suspension (or interior or valuable parts, etc), so they didn't give anything, but they still towed it away for free to me.
Good enough!
3 car batteries, a hot water heater,2 Subie radiators, 2 gti seats, and two dozen brake rotors netted me $98.66 today. The three batteries were good for $27 of it.
