Saw a pic of the starting grid of some NASCAR race circa '72 or '73.  Made me wonder about if you made a list of all those Cyclones, Fairlanes, Chargers, Monte Carlos, Satellites, etc. how they'd end up listed in order of coefficient of drag.  Anyone know of any such thing?

You might be able to find the data from old editions of road&track. I recall they posted CD numbers for tested cars in the back. That may have been later than the range your looking for though. Otherwise the production models likely had the aero numbers collected, but it was not a priority for a few more years. Also, race cars of that era were on!y mostly stock, so modified aero numbers are not going to be open source.

I don't know the numbers but they were able to race close together without aero problems when they were big boxes.

At bigger tracks it was mostly Petty, the Woods Brothers, Junior Johnson then everyone else behind. The close, large packs really didn't come along until the early 90s.
