GRMer buys Crown Vic for cheap. Proceeds to make clean it up, decides to lower said Crown Vic while adding steel wheels and painting blackwalls to mimic RWL tires. GRMer aspires to turn Crown Vic into a drift car, because why not? GRMer satisfies his horrible taste in fonts (Algerian, really?) by creating what I can only assume is a vinyl sticker to apply to newly-crowned vic drift car.

Algerian is the bane of my existence!
The thing that from around 30 to around 50, the engine is in the meat of the torque curve in 2nd with 2.73s. That's ideal for the relatively tight local track. Also, I've decided to go for a DIY version of what BCL calls their "cupcake" wing. The two big problems right now are the open diff and the foot e-brake which makes me do really awkward Manjis to try and link corners. Of course, after I fix those two issues, I can try for a T-45 swap.

I'll be the guy that doesn't necessarily naysay the minispool. With the loooong wheelbase of the Crown Vic, it may not be that intrusive or noticeable.
In reply to NickD:
The main concern would be chewing up stuff on the street, but with 2.73 open diff 8.8s being so common and cheap (found a whole rear Assembly with brakes for $60 the other day), does it really matter that much?
You could always look into a lunchbox locker. There's gotta be one for an 8.8. They're cheap, hard to break, and easier on the street than a spool.
Bonus: you get to explain why your car makes ratchet sounds around corners.
A selectable locker (preferable cable or electric) or "lunchbox locker" would be good choice for the rear. A spool will just chew up tires and axles and be a PITA.
When I saw "Universal Atmosphere Demolisher" I thought it was a coal-rolling kit
