I have not been there on "race weekend" since they began re-running these races back some years back. I am not sure how much they really race anymore and how much just exhibit.
I did know a girl who's father flat out raced in the originals when he was young and before she was born.
The first race on the 3.1 mile course at Put-in-Bay was held in 1952 and continued through 1959, an attempt to resurrect the island race occurred in 1963. The race was popular and was limited to Sports Cars under 2 liters and a field of 100 cars (they were turning cars away). The reunion events are being conducted by the Put-in-Bay Road Race Heritage Society, which aspires to celebrate the Put-in-Bay Road Races and ensure the history of those races is captured and preserved.

From reading the website I think you are on the money, but on the other hand PIB is a nice place to go anyway and my wife would have something to do besides look at all the old car stuff.
Delaware is having its anual Downtown cruise in tomorrow. There is your normal american muscle stuff but also some odd ball cars. Last year a guy showed up with a running Citroen SM, it was cool to see him raise and lower the car.

runs start at 6. we're shooting to be there at 7. my buddy is getting to my house at 6 and we're grilling dead pig first.
on not going to toledo, i'm just burned out and want to relax tomorrow without driving 2 hours each way.

Findlays cars in main is next Saturday at 5:00; close Main Street and line cars up and down and into the side streets. Lots of American iron and other odds and ends.

If I am not rewiring a Mustang and stuck on that project I should be able to do this

You get infield parking, paddock pass and a grandstand seat if you want it. The only thing I ask is that I need it back before the NASCAR weekend.

Totally missed the Prosolo yesterday because I slept in. Kinda glad I did, it was pretty cold(airport is always windy) and it rained for a bit, looked VERY wet out there in some pictures my friends posted on FB(look up NWOR SCCA on FB).
Not doing crap this coming weekend, spent WAY more than I wanted to on Friday night and have to pay rent this Friday.

you missed nothing. i got one bad no 1-2 shift until 3 bounces off the limiter run in, then they ran the gambler race and someone oiled the track and bounced off the wall, and after a lengthy cleanup, there was still oil so they cleaned more and more. at 10:30 the guys in line next to me keeping me from jumping out of the staging lanes bailed so i took off.
NTPA "Super Bowl" is the 16th; I have my tickets anyone else coming to see all the converted 1/4 mile racers and their tractors?

Saturday the 10th I am planning on going to Put In Bay to check out the Perry Monument and stop by a new Brewery if anyone is interested.
I am at Camp Perry (Port Clinton) playing Army until the 13th so if anyone has anything interesting going on or want to grab a beer let me know.
