Has anybody here had it done and if so, who did you use?

All the diesel guys use Blackstone Labs.

I should do it with the next oil change, but have never done it.

Yup, blackstone labs is the kleenex of oil analysis. It's a very comprehensive report.

I use to use National tribology in Peabody Mass (now Bently) for customer samples we'd draw at work. This looks like more fun.

You can also use Polaris labs in Indy, or if its for a diesel you can get a quickie done at a Speedco truck stop for like $18. They are on site but aren't as detailed as Polaris or Blackstone.

  • 1 for Blackstone. They provide not only the data but a thoughtful paragraph on what it may mean. This gets better over time as they can see trends with your vehicle(s).

Blackstone.

Saved me an engine rebuild.

also blackstone here for both my cars, been using them for about 4 years now. i do about one a year now on each just to see if things are still trending normally. from a practical standpoint its allowed me to stretch out my oil change intervals on synth now that i know how the oil is doing over certain mileages.

i've heard that Dyson is really hardcore as far as if you need the top-of-the-line analysis service. http://www.dysonanalysis.com/Dyson_Analysis/Welcome.html
