I need a smallish - 1qt minimum rectangular oil catch can for the TR4. I'm not finding much so thinking of making one up from some aluminum. May seem dumb, but does anything like baffles go inside? Was thinking it needs a breather/ filter, intake bung and return line bung. Anything else?

You can fill it with steel wool to act as a baffle.

Baffles are good. You're pretty much on the right track otherwise.

Don't use steel wool--it fragments too easily. Use stainless "scrubby" material like this:

For a good starting point, try a water bottle like this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA04005S1396&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleMKP&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleMKP--pla--NA-_-NA

or use a used reciever drier from any old a/c system, free aluminum cylinder and already has a couple of bungs

this is more or less what Per is talking about... http://www.aaronreedbaker.com/oil.html

note you don't need the clear hose (or technically even the drain as you could just pour it out the top from time to time)... but his is a nice usable one... some spray paint would clean it up a lot
