I have a MaxJax lift (48" lift height, but many vehicles are limited to less lift by the 8' ceiling). I have been draining oil with a drain pan on a stool, and it's only a matter of time until I do an Exxon Valdez in my shop. So I am looking at the rolling extendible funnel gizmos. I know I need a minimum height on the low end of what's available. What I'm struggling with is how to empty the thing into 5 qt jugs to recycle it. Are the air pressure driven ones easy to empty? Am I better off going with a small one I can hope to lift and pour? I don't mind spending money, but I really want something that's easy to use.
I dump my drain bucket into a old 5 gallon gas can by using a funnel. Parts store has never given me any crap about it. Except that time I brought 30 gallons of milkshake oil.....
When I bought my lift, (Danmar 10K) I realized that I was going to have to catch the oil changes a different way. At first i tried to put my old drain pan on a 4' high stool and work off of another stool. That was more than awkward. then I thought I would just put the old pan on the floor and work off of the creeper. After one attempt at that I thought 'what did I buy the lift for?' So i broke down and bought the full telescopic under lift drain canister similar to the one Woody showed. It holds about 8 gals. I thought this is going to be a pain because now I have an 8 gallon canister to try to pick up, or carry or just move around. But surprisingly it is easy to pour. And if you try to empty it when it only has 5 gals in it, I pour it into my old 5 gal 'travel' can and take 5 gallons to the reclaimer each time. I've found that is the best way.
I bought a lift last year, but haven't bought a tall drain thingey for it yet, mainly because I don't really want it taking up floor space in my garage when I'm not in the process of changing oil
I have a 4-post lift, so I've been using one of the drip trays that goes between the two ramps to hold a normal drain pain in the right location. Seems to work reasonably well.
I put a roll around cart under the car, pull the plug while holding a drain pan under it. As the pan starts to fill I slowly lower it to the cart. I store my funnels and drain pan in the cart, it is a around six inches taller than a workbench.

oil drain
I have the prior version of this pan. works well under my rotary 2 post lift.
Grab an old plastic gallon of milk container. cut bottom off (but keep handle) to make funnel. Get large diameter hose and attach to where the screw top of the milk jug goes. Place other end of hose in 5 gallon waste oil container.
Now you can hold the funnel exactly where you want, and empty straight into the waste oil container.
We use 25 gallon telescopic versions at work. Drain them into a tank via a hose and airline. There really simple too empty!
