Ok so I am looking for a new car (if you don't know this by now you don't spend enough time on here ), I have been looking for the following cars in order from most desirable down; Mazda MX6 GT, 90-93 Celica GT or GTS, MX3 GS, Civic (preferably an EF with a D-series that hasn't been riced to Jesus and back but any will do), Integra, AE86 (not really figuring I can find one but just hoping), AE92 GTS, MK3 Supra. But I am having no luck on Craigslist. What other sites do y'all use to search for cars? I was looking for cars in the $3000 to $5000 range but I was talking to the parentals and they seem to be willing to give me up to $8k but I would much rather keep it cheap. I have ruled out RX-7s (my friend who has a number of rotaries tells me they will ruin your life and MPGs), Volvos (not sure I would enjoy it), Alfas (don't trust them), Audis (don't trust them), Porsche 944s. Manual is a must. Any suggestions. Also if you happen to have a car that fits this description and is for sale and is between Birmingham and Nashville or in that area feel free to PM.
Join me in the 3SGTE Supra madness....
Oh I forgot Neon ACR on that list.

Two Integras and a Civic. Is buying modified cars a bad idea?
Buying modified cars done badly is a bad idea.
I would stay away from the EF, and the "built" Integra. The B20 Vtec car looks done well, and seems to be a good deal if it isn't rusting to pieces.
I was kinda think the same thing about the EF. The built Integra I was kind of 50/50 on. I may go check out the B20 VTEC car.

How's about that one?
Also:
Pretty clean looking MX6 GT, blown head gasket, comes with spare motor.

Cheap black MX6 LS, don't know if it's manual or not.

Lots of Celicas on Nashville CL.
That green Integra is on a local board, he dropped the price to $4600 obo
I'd think you have more of a chance to find an AE86 on someplace like club4ag than CL...
I saw that MX6 Turbo but I don't have time or anywhere to work on replacing a head gasket. All the Celica I saw on Craigslist have been dead, autos, convertibles or the last gen ones. How are the last gen Celicas?
What about a 1st Gen MR2?

Why must all they all be in California?
Other then the AE86, the RX7, first gen MX6, MR2 and Mk3 Supra, what are some other cool '80s Japanese cars? There is the Cressida but the fourth gen was not available with a manual. Any I have overlooked?
For $8k you are getting into WRX range!

There's a nice looking 91 GTS in nashville.
The last gen Celicas are great cars. I would spring the extra money for a GTS 6spd if ANYWAY possible.
What about a Nissan? I really like my SE-R. B-15 Spec V models come with a pretty decent suspension, 6 speed and decent power for a 4 cylinder. Sadly for me (good for you) the depreciation on them is terrible, so there are some really cheap one's running around out there. The main issues to watch for are oil consumption and transmission grinds. Most people also say to stay away from the 02 models, but I've had good luck w/mine.
200SX would be a good choice as well. I don't seen mention of Starion/Conquest on your list either, I don't know if they were mentioned in your other thread or not.

Just some advice.
Before you plunk down the money for a specific new car, call your insurance agents office and ask, "if I bought XYZ, how much would that cost me?"
You are young and it is amazing how high insurance can be on some models, even models where you would not expect it to be high.

It is pretty rare to find a '95 Civic EX coupe "unmolested".
Sure their price seems high but if it truly is in good shape, offer them $2500 to $3k and I bet they will take it.
The '95 Civic EX that I owned new really was likely the best car I ever owned. I should have kept it longer.
In reply to jrw1621:
Don't worry I am doing that. Part if the reason I am staying away from vehicles from the 2000s.
Are Miatas out of the discussion?
In reply to jrw1621:
That car wasn't there yesterday.
Edit: There was a very a same color 95 Sedan on Hondatech with the same miles and Rota wheels and lowering springs and that was all.
In reply to Otto_Maddox:
Yup I don't want a convertible.

I forgot about the Starquest. How reliable are those cars?
