I stumbled upon this neat-o vid during my interweb wanderings, and thought it was worth sharing.
No sound. Probably filmed at a "Challenge" event in September, 1964 at the Town & Country Shopping Center in Mishawaka, IN.

Geez that Mustang looked like a real jalopy, no offense but it couldn't stay out of its own way. Looked like a teeter totter on wheels.

1:40 looks like a ~1950 Ferrari Type 166 Berlinetta judging by the grillwork, high beltline crease, and sweeping windows. The fins and rear fender bulges point to a custom body though.
Funny, Mishawaka is right up the street from the Tire Rack and I think that's where Woody/John and Angie Rodgers live.
About the speed- Im pretty sure that video was modified to get rid of that comical "fast foward" effect that old film gets, and the editor overslowed the footage. Watch when cars lock the brakes- the speed they seem to carry doesnt look right.

The Mustang.
The title claims that this was in 1964 and the Mustang was introduced as a 1964.5 model in April 1964. Therefore, this is a really early Mustang. More proof that it is an early Mustang is evident by the fact that it appears to have no white back up lights which became required in 1965. It appears that the Mustang does carry a 289 badge on the front fender.
What I am getting at is that the Mustang was obviously a very new car at the time and at about 1:10 into the video the Mustang is billowing smoke out the back end.

The difference between the gymkhana (British style) and autocrossing! No helmets, people standing right next to spinning vehicles (are the referees paid to do that?), curbs right next to the path of travel, spectators lining the course, etc. None of that would fly in the United States of Litigation today.
And about the Mustang smoking - that was most likely oil backing up the PVC line and into the intake manifold during cornering. Used to have a Rabbit that would do that.
Could be a 260 Badge on the Mustang. Gotta give the guy credit for attempting that Challenge.

Looked like inside tire smoke to me.
OK, went back and looked at it again - it was tire smoke.
That last 356 had a really cool 'stinger' exhaust. I also noticed the roll bars looked VERY spindly- even the one in the FP TR3. Single hoop, single forward brace....

Also compare the street cars in the background. They're even going too slow...

Not sure it was smoke. looked like the driver was using the brakes and the gas together to get power to the ground through the open diff.. probably looking at a single biasply tyre going up in smoke
