In reply to snipes:
It was a mock up demonstration for my video. No flare for the other side. Sorry! Besides, its no fun doing the same thing twice : ) I ended up stretching the quarters about 1" out on that car. It did not look flared when it was done. It just had more room for fatter tires.

I think my whole "I will never own another VW" thing has just been seriously altered!!!!!
That is absolutely one of the greatest looking cars I have seen!!!! It all just works!!!!
Thanks for the kind words!
Here are 2 shots of a flare in progress. You can see by the reflection that there is more work to do.

Sweet jesus this page is full of win. And I will whole-heartedly admit that I had a visual attraction to the Yaris before seeing the pic of the flared one. Meeeyow.

Quoted pic again for gratuitous ogling.

This is an AWESOME find. I love the aesthetic of a decayingm/decayed custom. I wonder if it looked at all good when it was in its prime. Lots of bondo there.
FYI - This thread is #1 on Bing as well. But I did find this:
Hotlinked for your viewing pleasure.
If you likethese box flares....get 1/4 panels and fenders of a Suzuki Sidekick or it's equivalent. I'm looking into this for a project on a small hatch.

For Shame.
I never realized you had that HUGE hood vent on it. That looks nice.
Where was the new owner located again? I'd really like to see Kimini at an event sometime to see it up-close.

Salt Lake City. He's had it for 2.5 years and I have yet to hear one single thing from him, nothing. I guess that's good... Better that then constant complaints!
This is the view most seen, where the front vent doesn't look so ponderous.
This thread isn't helping me with my lust for a X1/9
Vauxhall Chevette = tasty

I swear there was a thread around here with video of that car. It's a participant in something like the Danish GT series or something. I looked, but I can't find it.
