So I ordered the bracket bolts to put my car back together the other day and picked them up this morning. Took off the wheel and went to put the bolt in and found that it was way to small. Went back to the parts store with the other bolt and found they could not get it and the one they gave me was for a Ford not a Pontiac. went to three other parts stores in town, they had nothing, went to the local GM dealer and found their parts department is closed on the weekend (Just when people would want to buy parts.).

I get back home and my wife shows me where others had posted on other forums with the same problem and not been able to find the bolts. But I did luck out and she found the part number from GM. I just have to wait until Monday when I can get to a dealer and get the bolts.

So I got everything put back together. Brought the car to my father-in-law so he could inspect it before he went away on a hunting trip. I got it back Sunday and quess what happens three days later?

On my way home this afternoon I notice the car is down on power and nothing is showing up on the boost gage. I get the kids and drive home trying to think of what could be the problem. I get home and open the hood to find the supercharger belt is no longer on the pulley. Now I have to find a new belt.

I found out why the supercharger belt failed.

I was taking a look tonight to see if I should replace the surpintine belt when I noticed what looked like a plastic ring around what should be an idler pulley, but the pulley was nowhere to be seen.

It seems that the bearing on the pulley seazed and the belt just kept sliding around the pulley untill the pulley fell apart and the belt broke.

I think I am now going to bring the car to my father-in-law and let him take a look at it.

Common failure for the idler to evaporate. BTDT.

Those pulleys have a habit of doing that, just change them all along with the belts, its not too hard to do.
