So I finally gutted the 22RE that I nuked last summer. I wanted to see what had happened. If I was a betting man, I would have said the mains went, but nope, these are rod bearings. One is worn out. One is wasted. Both sides are super shinny. That explains the "rack-ataka-taka-taka-raKATAKA-RATTTTpuhhhh...."
Blown head gaskets do weird things. Like localized hot spots. And I found out that cylinder #3 AND #4 were both leaking. I'm more impressed with how tough the 22R is. Drove with it leaking for 5 months.
