I'm suer it's probably out of my price range but is there a company that make one-off carbon fiber parts for motorsports applications? Hoods, hatchs, ect.

For what it's worth, why not try your hand at it. Plenty of how-tos online.

If you can find a company that makes fiberglass parts for you, they have molds, so you can inquire about them doing stuff in carbon.

GRM did a DIY article on carbon fiber in 2003, I believe. In fact, that was the first issue I ever bought. I think it had Rys Millen's drift GTO on the cover.

I have done some carbon fiber for some projects at school. It is something you can do but you will want to budget in some money for screw ups. What type of lay-up where you planning and how big a part?

Doing it myself is probably not an option. I'm wanting a carbon fiber hood for my chevette.

Does fiberglass need to be oven cured? I think using fiberglass wouldnt be a bad choice when considering the costs and potential application.

Ah, ive only dealt with oven cured CF. not needing an autoclave makes everything a lot easier.
