I noticed that the amount of ads they put in will vary with the device.  My desktops (iMac and Windows PC) have less ads than my Apple TV device, which gets hit hard with ads and most of the time the time to wait to skip the ads is the lenght of the ads, so no skipping.  The ad amounts have increased drastically over time, with the Apple TV getting the worst of it.

I find that if I airplay from my phone its a bit better. Playing directly on the atv is horrible.

As a creator, I struggle with the ad thing as I'm also a viewer. We don't get to pick the ads or even the category of ads they show. It is possible to turn off 'mid-run' ads, but I have not done so. I have to admit I like the monthly deposits I get from YT for doing nothing after I upload a video. For now they will stay. I guess if I ever get a sponsor (Ha!) I might reconsider.

I watch YT on my tv so no browser will matter. I pretty much just get political ads right now. Never ending, repetitive political ads. For both idiots. It seems that when I get one of those 'click the survey question' ones, though, if I answer it I tend to get more of those and less ads.

There in lies my biggest issue with Youtube ads. If the creator were able to pick where the ads appear (they used to be able to but Google removed that) and the type of ad being displayed, I would be a bit less adversarial.

UniLever ad against my content? Fine. Political ads and ball shavers against my content? No.

It's pretty bad from the advertiser side too. Google claims to be able to do all kinds of targeting but the sole purpose of the AdWords algorithm is to suck every dollar out of a budget that's available. They claim they can target, but the totality of my experience with their advertising platform is that the claim is hyperactive bullE36 M3 at best and outright lies at worst.

Somewhat related question, but most of the blockers are utilized with your browser, but many times I'm watching content on my smart tv (an LG, if it matters). I haven't really found a solution other than paying for the premium, which eventually I may do, but I would want to drop a couple of other services first.

Holy cow you have amassed a ton of subscribers and views on YT!   My most watched video (one of several I have made on my Lightning) has about 20k views in a few months of being live.

I've been adding content pretty regularly trying to get over the 1000 subscriber hump so I can start getting paid.  Did you pay for positioning or grow organically?
