Really nice facility. Really nice people. Beautiful track! And a day long program with instructed Autocross, Antilock training, Skidpad and distracted driving. All in new BMW 3's. Nick was in a 330. The lead instructor took me for a few laps on the track. What an excellent deal. I am exhausted but am super stoked about how much better Nicks driving is.
Looks awesome, I bet he had fun!
I was there yesterday for a track day, it’s really a great facility. I didn’t know that they did a teen driver course there; I need to look into that in another two years when my daughter turns 15.
I wonder if there’s something’s like thus near Chicago?

My niece and nephew took Mid-Ohio teen drivers school. Highly recommend for new drivers. Really boosted the knowledge and confidence of my niece. She was a little apprehensive in getting her license but after the school she became a better prepared confident driver.
It would be cool if they offered this for any driver. It wouldn’t hurt a lot of people!

I have coached at these and I teach high school driver education in Vermont. You must remember to continue with follow up training and reflection on skill level. There is research that indicates teens taking courses like this get an elevated sense of their skill level that doesn't match their actual skill level. One day does not make a teen a better driver, only slightly more aware. And if they don't come away thinking they have much more to learn then they've missed a major point. I encourage you to continue being an integral part in your child's driving education and promoting a better understanding on their part. Parenting: you're doing it well.
I got permission from the local Tire Rack Street Survival host (the local BMW CCA Chapter) to let my wife partake, provided they didn't fill up. Best $85 (plus I got lunch and a Staff shirt, since I shagged cones all day) we've ever spent on anything car-related. Every 6 months or so, she avoids some accident using training taught to her and I'm reminded how important good auto awareness/control lessons really are.

Excellent point!!!! I know several adults that would also benefit from this philosophy.

I would hazard most would!
My nephew did the school at 16 and then again four years later when his sister turned 16 just to brush up on his skills and to prepare himself for a career in law enforcement. Just because I have participated and instructed in drivers schools, I need to get myself to a school as well. You can never get enough instruction/training.

If we had a skidpad at the house. And a new BMW to flog. And a lifetime supply of free tires and brakes. And I was a more experienced instructor.... No, this was better than what we could do at home. Much better. I observed every minute and every driver was clearly better at car control.. At $295 it was a flaming bargain. Will be back in three years with #2 Son.

Miata? I wanted to be out there with you. I did get a few instructor driver laps that were fun. A technical track, would be fun to try and master.
