So at a friend's birthday get-together Saturday night, someone was asking me about my rallycross adventures. He mentioned a go kart track he thought he had seen around Batavia or Owensville Ohio. A big outdoor track. I looked it up on my phone and found one, saving it till I got home to a desktop.

Holy E36 M3, 10 acres, 6 track layouts, almost a mile long, 80mph straights, ...! I'm in! How much is the cost? Again, holy E36 M3, even the cheapest "non-resident" (>60 miles) cost is $1000 initiation fee, and $500 annual dues, not to mention actual per lap costs. I'm much less in!

Anyone heard of this place? Already a member? I do get that it's still cheaper than buying/making a club racer, towing, entry fee, gas, etc. But $2-6k for go kart fun seems pretty crazy.

That looks awesome, but holy crap at the cost!

Ill stick to the local indoor place for $12 a session

I had not hear of this but it is cool.
It's a Yacht Club but rather than small sail boats they have small cars.
A dock (kart storage) is $400 per year. If you do not own your own boat (kart) then you do not pay the $400 but rather you can rent a cart for $1.50 or $3.00 per lap. As a member, you can bring buddies (up to 3) like you might at a country club. The entry of that buddy will cost you $25. Buddy can rent a cart if he does not own his own.

$1k to get started and $500 per year. Proves you are serious and someone has to pay the staff and re-pave the track. http://www.mccofcincinnati.com/Memberships.aspx

New Castle Motorsports Park is located about an hour East of Indy visible from I-70.

The New Castle park is what me and the fiancee saw on the way back from Indy500. She stuck it in her phone while I was driving but couldn't find it. I need to check that out, only 1-1.5hrs away.

How did I not know about this? That's about 11 miles from my house, and I have to have been close to it when going to the Pumpkin Run. Wonder if they own any of the fields in the area, too?

That would make an awesome autocross course; it's similar to the kart track we run at Daytona, but bigger.

I know a few of you out there, it seems very well hidden. I just can't justify $1500 plus lap fees for go karts.

I only could if I didn't have a rallycross car to feed and care for. For now, I still have 3 races on my Full Throttle card

It looks like lap fees are only for rentals. If you own your own kart it looks like track time is free. Still $1500 is steep but may be worth it if you get out there a lot.

Non-resident membership is for >60 miles. Google says my house is 58.1 miles. But my driver's license still has my fiancee's Kettering address...

We planned on using NCMP for our auto-x for SDAC this year, but the owner said his insurance would not allow him to run cars or bikes on the course.

My local track is .5 mile long, and fees are $200 / year plus $20 / day after that..... unlimited laps. I could justify that, but not the $1500!!!

I might justify that too. 4 digit costs are out of my league.
