Awesome build.....but notably absent is any kind of information about the car actually driving (he trailered it to Rockingham for a photoshoot?). And it's actually quite ugly on the surface.
Very cool build though. I hope (for his sake) that it's as fast as it should be...
UGLY? It's just old school rallye car.
I was a little disappointed in the lack of some specs. He never posted what power it made nor have I seen a video of the car or engine running. Maybe that's to come soon cause the thread's not finished.

Don't get me wrong, I love old box-flared rally cars. There's just something about this one that has a bit of a "kit car" look to it, as if some proportions just aren't right. YMMV....

Audis were never known for their stellar handling, just their stellar horsepower.
That said, I'm fairly sure that the V8 is lighter than an iron-block five, which is what powers most S1 clones. Oddly enough, the only aluminum-block I5 in the States that I'm aware of (KW engine code) is in a long wheelbase car.
