Can anyone link me to that comparison between the P-38 Lightning and the B-17 Flying Fortress?
The search function just doesn't seem to work.

Right now that site says, "Sorry, registration has been disabled by the administrator."
Yeah, really friendly that.

???? WTF is up with that?
I think part of the attraction of this forum is noboby's going to chew your head off for starting a thread. I'll take the current signal to noise ratio over a forum run by some elitist treehouse gang any day.

Except this thread. WTF!? O.P. best post some irrelevant drivel now or GTFO.
Just kidding - this is an irrelevant thread. Nice going!
I like the diversity this gang offers, ain't been here long but everyone disagrees in a civil manner more or less.I don't often get the viewpoints or expertise that are offered here by the social strata represented. Young and old, rich or poor. Thank you all for putting up with the noise!

I have been a member there for years - I have about 3 posts.
I do search there for issue resolution but asking any question is like having to wipe your ass but all you have handy are 3 different types of cactus.
In reply to kreb:
I couldn't love GRM the magazine or the website more, and believe me, I don't like to be the P.C police or anything or the guy who has a problem with everything thing, but I do have a problem with this... I find it a bit offensive that you use terms like "frivolity", "lifestyle" etc etc... for your little descriptions or whatever in the land of cyberspace. I myself do not have special needs, nor am I an internet stud like Dave Hardy, but I feel sensitivity for people with special needs as I am especially needy, and my Girlfriend is pursuing her masters in the field.
These terms although I'm preety sure are not even real words, are obviously meant to resemble the words used to describe people with webbed fingers and artificial testicles, and it appears that they are used on these boards in a joking sense which, as I view it, makes light of people who are internetually challenged. It just dosen't seem right to me, thats all. I know that it's not my message board, and that noone forces me to post here, but all the same, some things are wrong when they really don't need to be.
CC and GRM are apples and oranges - both tasty in their own way. To this day CCs the only site I've ever been banned from, but I'm also the rare bird that's been reinstated there. Hanging out at GRM is like being with my high-school buddies, whereas CC is like hanging out with the old sheet metal workers that I apprenticed under: Crusty, sometimes mean, but very smart and if you earn their respect you've accomplished something.
I started this thread not to be a scold, or make GRM something that it's not. I just found myself getting a bit impatient with the general tenor of the posts, and figured that maybie other people were as well. The occasional introspection is a good thing.
In reply to turboswede: Thank you for your response. I've always been of the mind that the handicapped should indeed be hired, as watching them is great sport. I'm happy to say that in fact it was my boss who instituted this policy and, er..... nevermind.

you win at internetting
I love that I can be an internet dimwit, a very average mechanic and yet fit in with this crowd like OJ fits a glove.

I don't know why, but this never gets old for me.

Probably because it only gets busted out at appropriate times, when somebody needs to chill.

Never been there, and don't feel the need to go....don't need to be brow beaten about minutia
FWIW, don't hang out at the HAMB anymore, either. I like the looks of their cars. I hate the "You suck. That part wasn't made before 1963!" attitude.

I don't remember that, but thanks for the invitation? I would never ever ever claim to be nurml, nor would I believe anyone else here.

I peeked in there once. Just once.. and never went back

I've been on there for years , 07 I think. Never made a post because of the "culture" there.
Here . . . I don't mind being wrong as the "right" answer doesn't come with condescending tone . . . more like an FYI.
That and Tom doesn't threaten to ban me when I dig up my old ass threads
