If I knew much about restoring Lotus's I would be all over it myself. Course, I said that about BMW 2002's until I had one.
There is really not much too that car. It is about as close to four wheels and a motor as you can get. I'm not a fan of the Renault motors, but a lot of people are. Restoration is the same as anything else: Take it apart, clean it, replace whatever's busted, put it back together. There's plenty of knowledge out there today and parts are not hard to come by.
Jump on that thing. It'll smoke your 2002 when it's together (and running, a slight issue). Someone should 2000x challenge it.
Incidentally, that's the "natural state," how Europas are found in the wild.
