Karl,

I'm digging your buggy avatar picture. Do you own that one? How's it to drive?

Pro tip: You can click on anyone's avatar to see where they're at, their post count, what's in their garage and other stuff.

Crap I got skert like a cop was behind me . I got the complete meyers manx from an estate along with a gremlin, 5 rx 7 s 1st gen , box van , saab sonnet << need rear glass>> . I re chassied it from a from a never built fibrefab mercedez vw kit car . In 1988 or so the PO had got the kit to build with his kid and you know the story it never was built and went from garage to garage . I found it off ebay no bidder . Turned out car was less than 11 miles from me . We took off fibrefab body and sold it for a profit and we set manx on the rebuilt engine/tranny combo . It does not look as nice as Tims with paint but we are going to wrap it and show it at the Dade city FL Bug Jam Nov 8th . We have driven the manx at Sebring ,Daytona , Atl Mitty So thanks Bruce Meyers for all the fun !!

Thanks for the info Karl. Does the thing drive pretty well? I've heard those Manx's max out at about 70 mph. How's the handling?

It drives like a vw bug , the chassis and setup is pretty stiff . the picture of bruce jumping on the cover of hotrod probably jarred his back . The suspension is not like the sandrails/buggys you see now a days flying over the dunes. Its very streetable though and responsive which for a vw bug might be an oxy moron . 1600 motor and yes i would not drive over 60
