So I'm wondering if 3 year old info is still good. Was I smart to keep all those back issues? (of course I was!) After many searches I keep going back to what Per said about setting up a MINI for H stock in that issue. Several opinions out there for alignments, smaller front bar or keep the stock one, tire pressures, full tank of fuel or nearly empty...and so on. I'm new to MINI, not many events around here to sort a car in a reasonable amount of time (300 miles away if I want to go to our next regional event), so I try to take every bit of info I get, average it out, and give it a try.

So I went with the Rota's and the Kumho's, now I need the alignment...is this really a "drivers' preference" or is there a real set up that should help?

Ps:Stock size Rota's and the Kumho's are the only changes I've made so far.

So the Aug '07 was a good bed time read last night. Of course the camber adjustments they were using are out of the question for me, but the theory of it all is the important lesson here.

Any one else think I should just go with the set-up Per uses and be done with it?

If Per wore his underwear backwards on race day I'd probably give it a try.

If you like what Per has to say, set it up like he did for starters. You can always adjust it to your tastes afterward once you have a known good configuration. (Sheesh, I sound like a Windows reboot... )

Yes, I would start there. I've been playing around with a more normal rear alignment and just using tire pressure to get the rear to rotate. Worked pretty well on the 07 MCS (4th at nats)

You should consider posting those articles in your Online articles section. I'm on the Mini forums occasionally and this question comes up regularly. Usually with poor answers.

That's the reason I came here with it. Been to a couple of MINI forums and the comments/discussions were all over the map. I am a beginner when compared to Per and Solo competition, but I do understand both logic and physics and that kept brining me back to what was he has done and discarding the rest.

Big regional this weekend, hoping for some good results.

I think amg_rx7 meant just that, but also a posting of things like the alignments that Per has tried and what affects it had, the tire pressures he started and ended with and so on.
