1.6 on left, 3.5?(7.0 for the whole engine?) on right

The hemi intake valves are nearly the size of the entire 4AG combustion chamber

Look about right. Now look at the head off a 50cc scooter.

That's why Hemis breath so well.

The one on the left is missing 4 valves.

And yet the best Hemis back-inna-day made only a little more than twice the power as the best 4A-GEs, despite having twice as many cylinders.

Odd, that you're still looking at roughly 75-80hp/hole. Hemis could breathe really really well, but they weren't so good at actually burning it because of the necessary piston shape. Sometime in the 80s, wedges overtook Hemis for power production and they never looked back.

(edited because for some reason I was thinking it was iadr posting about his Shotgun-headed Mercruiser four cylinder, which is still a way rad idea and I want one too)

edit again - but that IS a Ford head, isn't it? I could have sworn Hemis had a row of studs in the head that went into bosses in the block. 426 Hemis did, anyway. Boss '9s could use a regular wedge block with a little clearancing for the exhaust pushrods and some oil plumbing. Furthermore, why do I know this? I will play with these engines exactly never.

edit edit - waaaaaaaaaaait.... that head is way too narrow to be for a Mopar OR a 385. No pushrod holes between it and the intake face. That head is narrow like an FE head. 427 Cammer head??

Fontana Hemi... Chevy internals inside what is basically a hemi type block/head

But that's not a Chevy bolt pattern!

The sound you hear is my brain crumbling.

I had to tell my buddy that his new "Hemi" challenger wasn't a true hemi. He argued, and got pissed. I showed him some 426 Hemi combustion chambers, and the ovoid-with-protuberances chambers of the new one, and told him that, if he ever met a guy that had the same attitude as him, but had a real Hemi, he'd probably end up on his ass. :)
