This is my buddy Chris.   He used to own the car dealership with me back in the day.

He likes Acuras as you can tell.  This picture is from a few months back when he let me codrive his Type R integra at the local autocross.

Wednesday last week he calls me up and informs me he is buying another NSX.  He owned 2 different ones in the early 2000's.  The car is in Phoenix and he was going to fly out to pick it up this week.

He needed a codriver again so I of course volunteered.  I already had Monday off and I wasn't on call for hostage negotiatior so why not.

Nice. Enjoy the oh so boring west Texas leg. :) I'm assuming you are taking the I-10 route across?

If you guys are taking I-10, feel free to hit me up if you run into any trouble in MS(or really from NOLA to Mobile), or just need to stop for a break/meal/whatever.

I-10 basically anywhere in Texas is one of the most boring roads in America in my opinion, but definitely worth suffering that road to get an NSX.  Can't wait for the build thread!

Will do.  I think we are going to go 20 through Dallas and then on to Biloxi.

Just landed in Nashville.  On to Phoenix in an hour.

If you guys are coming through Houston and need a place to crash, let me know. I could even give you the garage parking spot for the night. laugh

EDIT: Just actually read the above message. If your route changes because Dallas is going to be cold as balls, then let me know. laugh

The inner child in me wants a NSX one day. Looking forward to hearing the road trip potential.

How many days will you be on the road? Two thousand miles is a lot of ground to cover but it does sound like a fun trip.

NSXs kick ass.  And you're a hostage negotiator?!  Thats pretty wild!

In reply to Lof8 - Andy :

Yup for 4 years, it's a secondary duty.  My day job is as a forfeiture detective.  I basically take cars and money from drug traffickers.

The negotiatior job is a good gig, I actually have to be back Wednesday night for a training scenario with the SWAT team.

My cousin is a negotiator and detective, he once used his special skills to find out that his dads new corvette C7 was never ordered as promised by the dealer.  When pushed as to how he figured this out, the dealer ultimately payed him $2000 cash from their advertising budget for the answer, and cut him a hell of a deal on a convertible.

This was when dealers were taking orders for hard top cars that could not be produced due to the  warped magnesium roof structures.

Chris pulled in in an NSX
Red hardtop niney-nine,
Headed home to Jacksonville,
he'd been around the world
He was that black sheep friend of mine
His ship had come in, he was lookin' to sin
He was singing his own song
When he yelled from the drive, my heart came alive
"pimpm3 come along"
It's time to see the world
It's time to kiss a girl
It's time to cross the wild meridian
Grab your bag and take a chance
Time to learn a cajun dance
Bud your gonna see the mornin' sun
On the Pascagoula run

If it turns out to be a red 99 Im playing the lottery.

Be SUPER careful on I-20 in and around the Pecos area (Permian Basin)...the fracking (both Berklying AND actual fracking) drivers are insane and very dangerous, multiple deaths in the area on a weekly basis.

On the way! 1245 Phoenix time.

Car is beautiful.

Long time ago, I always wanted a 97NSX.  These days, although I have many other pop up headlight cars, I only want a 02-05 NSX Rio Yellow Pearl, with Matching OEM yellow interior seats, and yellow carpet. I don't want the 97 NSX anymore

Be safe
