Mod's, please shift if this is in the wrong place :-)

Photo's from the 2020 Leadfoot Festival in Waihi, New Zealand. This an annual event held on Rod Millen's mile (or so) long driveway each year, more stuff at www.leadfootfestival.com for the curious. Mostly pit shots as we were well back from the track with a ho hum camera.

Sloan Cox, Evo 8 with 6 speed sequential box, 800hp, 1,000kg. I think he was quickest on the day but messed up in the top 10 shootout.

Pit view

The Ghost, a custom hillclimber from the US. Tube frame 36 Chev "body",  850hp small block. Not top 10 but impressive.

Zakspeed Escort, replica of the 1974 DTM Group 2 cars. 720kg with a mechanical injection Cosworth BDG.

1915 LaFrance speedster

1977 Boreham built Mk II Escort RS1800. Driven in 1978 by Hannu Mikkola,  Ari Vatanen and Bjorn Waldegard and immaculately restored. I crewed on a (similar) car but I had forgotten how sparse the engine bay was.

McLaren M8B replica, just beautiful with an alloy GM V8 and apparently 650kg

A piece of NZ history - the PDL Mustang II from some time in the 70's. Full space frame with fabricated everything.

1958 Scarab Continuation #12,  from Hawaii apparently.

I don't know what this is / was but it did appeal :-) There was a Bugatti, a NZ special with a Tiger Moth  aero engine and a Boat Tail Model A but they were on course while I was in the pits so no pics unfortuantely.

Here's one of the drifters from towards the end, I was long way back so proper cars didn't photo well but smoke and sideways doesn't need much detail. You can get an idea of the track width though.
