Hey everyone, I'm picking up a couple heads for the Z and was wondering if anyone who is good at porting and polishing would be willing to help me out and port, polish, and clean up a head or two. I'm willing to pay and or give some beer money

Hey,I'm with you on the port and polishing but when you say clean up are you talking decking the head? You know we would have to disassemble the head to do this, and I can't deck it.What kind of shape are your valves, springs and cams in??
No decking needed. I have no idea what kind of shape they're in, I'm hoping to go pick up 2 heads this weekend, and maybe a motor. When I say "clean up" I literally mean "clean up", I don't mind disassembling the head(s), I just want to take that extra step to get me over the 300hp benchmark.
In reply to turboHLS30:So when you have them in hand let me know what needs to be done.Try and find out how much room you have to work with on the porting and find where the critical areas are so not to remove to much stock, dont want to hit the water jackets.Probably just want to mildly port them and swirl polish them.Remember to mark were everything goes.
How much do you want? I'm going to pull apart the least expensive one so that I don't screw up anything lol. Where are you located at?
We're in Palatka.
I've done some porting in the past. I've never done much past a good cleanup, but that's all some heads need.
Ok cool. While I'm at it I might as well port match the intake/exhaust manifolds I want to make over 300whp or run low 12's (Maybe even break 11's) in the 1/4 mile, wwhichever comees first. Port and polishing will just be that extra step to get there. Both of the heads that I'm buying have been sitting for a while, and I'd rather have everything done once, rather than pulling it apart multiple times.
