let's see those winter beaters!
I'll start it off. I'm particularly excited that I have an AWD winter beater this year:
1994 Subaru Legacy Wagon
Automatic
Purchased for less than scrap value this past spring.
It's already crashed...So I'm giggling while sliding around every corner.
same as my summer, spring, and fall beater...
Frisbe!
The windows are tragic in cold weather. This is the norm.
WTF! first Cardomain goes for a dump and now photobucket!?

The silver one is my winter beater. The white one is by girlfriend's DD that she has had since new, and is in great shape.
The silver one is an 06 Mazda3 Grand Touring 5 speed, I bought it 3 weeks ago. 158k miles, needs thermostat, brakes, shocks, and a good bath, but it came with snow tires and heated seats and is a great winter beater. My other daily cars are my 07 Z4M coupe that I don't drive when it is salty out, and my 03 Suburban 2500 which gets 10 MPG. This winter has been so crappy that I'm not driving the BMW at all, so the mileage of the Mazda will save my about $500 between now and April, and I've already made a deal to sell it to a friend in April with the deferred maintenance done for a $500 profit over what I have in it. Win Win.
I got one of these... 2002 Sonata 4cyl.Bought it for $300.Had to put an alternator, belt, rear brake pads and a set of snow tires on it.It needs some exhaust work as well.. and its boring to drive.

First time I've ever had AWD or snow tires. Can't get enough of it.
Grunt my All-trac Corolla... around for another season
Is it weird that the All-Trac Corolla with MR-2 wheels is my favorite car on this page? I'd post my winter beater, but I live in Virginia Beach, and the 2 snowfalls we've had in the last month have set a record I think. We usually go through the winter with nothing but a few flurries or a light dusting. But my AWD '97 CR-V was a blast in the snow recently!

Bought this to be my winter beater, its already seen it's fair share of northeast salt. Unfortunately at the height of all the storms here the starter went out so I've been dailying the Abarth and washing it weekly. The starter just got done yesterday but my buddy totalled his car during the storm so I'm letting him take the CV while he hunts for a new car. More Abarth abuse for me :( At least it will be all sorted and ready to go for Saints 2 Sinners in July (not so subtle reminder that registration closes at the end of the month)
I don't have room for a dedicated winter beater, but my daily driver takes a winter beating.

One fuel tank? Can't remember seeing that in the wild. How big is it?
I just sold it but this '84 244 GLE got me though most of the winter
Year-round beater. but in the winter it gets to wear BBS rims.
I sold my WRX last Thursday and bought this, instead.
The Brotires are sitting on a cart, in the back of the shop, waiting for some Brotato to come buy them for his Brodozer. The replacement Blizzaks went on on Monday.

My '92 SWB F150 4x4 has just one fuel tank. I'm happy about that since by this age they usually have had issues with the selector valve, anyway.
General Altimax Arctics make it a great winter car
