I wanted to do this in the worst way to build an LS RX8. On paper it looked reasonable. The issue was that year of unusable garage and spending no time with my family while I did it

It works, but I really hate pulling van engines. Between the solid body panels, rear axle, new steering box, hitch, radio, and some other bits plus residual scrap value I should be able to zero out my LQ4 van. I even fixed the crash damage and drove it for 6 months to know the drivetrain was worthy. I might even be able to trade the good 4L80e for something that'll have less parasitic drivetrain loss. Or I could run it knowing it's strong as berk.
I tried to pass along a 4.8 pickup for very cheap but nobody bit, i know i can zero that one out easy if not make a few bucks. Have an eye on an LQ4 pickup but price needs to come down for me to bite. Some of the 6.0 trucks really are a case of the engine out on a pallet with a video of it running is worth more than the truck as a whole. You just need to be willing to put the work in. I really am sick of parting stuff out, I'd rather be playing with the keepers. However, the cheapskate in me sees a $1000 wrecked 6.0 van or a 6.0/4l80e on a pallet for $2400 and decides the pain is worth it.

Is that what it takes? No glass, no rubber, stripped interior of all fabric and plastics? What about wire harness? Drain all fluids, obviously, right?
I don't want to sound like a skeptic, but this guy did both very well on his buying and very well on his selling. I'm pretty sure I couldn't find anyone to give me $75 for a used van brake booster or $30 for a used water pump/fan clutch. But obviously he did, so more power to him.
On the other hand, if this guy really built a 500hp 6.0 with just heads and a cam, I'm gonna start looking at Escalades. A 500hp Escalade would be pretty fun, and if I understand correctly I wouldn't even need to change out the intake and oil pan, right? I though the truck intake was only a problem for fitting the engine into a car, or is it part of the 500hp equation?
I'm just going to put this right here:
2010 6.0 Liter (LY6) donor . . .
If I had the license to bid on this thing I would snatch it up!
