My friend just sent a text: Call me.
I figured he needed help moving a body.
Turns out that his wife wants a new car, meaning that her Miata would be up for sale. He was wondering what it's worth. It's a black 1995 Miata, Southern car, no modifications, and his wife is the second owner. He needs to check the mileage, but it's less than 100,000--possibly even closer to 75k. He said the paint is okay: no peeling, issues, etc.
Actually, there is one mod: He added a racing stripe to make it, you know, racy.
$1500. When can I pick it up?
In reply to David S. Wallens: You have an interesting imagination.
I would guess it's worth anywhere from $2000-$4500 depending on condition and area.
Sounds exactly like my old miata and I sold it for $3800. It was a black and tan with the leather seats.
List it for 6k, play up the low miles, tons of pictures, clean it up, all that jazz.
It isn't unreasonable given the season, though in Florida it might not matter as much.

Had to do a double take at the thread title. Two-owner followed by "bone" kind of blurs together when reading it quickly.
"two boner miata" makes sense from a certain perspective lol
Depending on options and (perhaps more importantly) maintenance history, I'd probably pay $3.5 to $5K. The hitch with a 75 to 100K mile, 20 year old Miata is it probably needs a radiator, timing belt, water pump, shifter rebuild, full fluid change, etc, etc. The more of those issues I don't need to deal with, the more I'd pay.

torsen?
I kind of doubt it but can ask.
Take it to CarMax and get an absolute bottom dollar figure, and use the inspection they do to drive the price up.

Leather interior, tan top? If so, it probably has the Torsen. If not, probably not.
