Here's an interesting look at Chris and John's fastest scratch times on day two of the Dixie National Tour. Their runs remained less than 0.1 second apart--until the braking zone just before the slalom leading to the finish. Chris charged through and gained half a second on John, only to find trouble in the final turn.

I'd love to see my own runs overlapped like that. What did you put the video together in?

Individual in-car video files are easy enough to produce. For this one Tire Rack's video guy used the Final Cut Pro video editing software to merge two separate video files together. It is cool to watch, and we are planning to use it to illustrate driver or product comparison differences in the future.
Some of the better Data Acquisition system software (like the Race Technology DL1 we use) allow you to review and play back side by side video + data from two different runs on your laptop. To my knowledge none of these systems can output side by side videos like we did here, however.
Gah... It seems more a steering error than a speed error.
