Also a part of my daily Craigslist searching. not sure what'll make me actually pull the trigger. Love the color!

My best friend in the last couple of months sold his 05 V and he got an 09 V. They are both very cool cars but he just had some work done on his 09 and now has a dyno sheet that shows 603 whp.

It is kind of funny, he was looking at getting a fast 4 door car and was looking at high mileage M5's when I suggested he look at the V and the rest is history.

His was rock solid for the time he owned it, I think he had just over 90K on the 05 when he sold it.

There is a thread on the Caddy forum indicating using Vette hubs and rotors to change the lug pattern to something more common.

I'll post it up when I find it.

I was in the same shoes. The Caddy does check a lot boxes the M5 has . . . And has just as much quirks too!!

Looks great. And the video is great also. Are you going to add lightness?

I believe the initial autocross comment may have been based on airbag deployment, not mechanical deficiency.

Here is your silver CTS V

Plus its under 100k miles so Grow Financial will finance the car, given that the title and Car Fax comes back clean.

That payment comes in just about $210 a month and since it appraises at 18k you dont have to pay gap insurance.

After a little checking, these are a bit rare up here in MA. If I was going to get a V8 powered GM sedan of recent vintage, I'd probably just get a G8 GT. Yeah, I know they are auto-only, but whatever. They are pretty much the same money up here, but I think they look a lot better, inside and out. And they are newer.

Aren't they related platform-wise anyway? Or is the Commodore/Monaro chassis completely separate from the CTS?

I had a set of Team Dynamics 18x9.5s in 6x120 or whatever the pattern is on my car. This pic is from the 2009 Dixie Tour:

With that said, I think the current thing to do is use C6 hubs and '10+ Camaro rotors. I believe that creates a bolt-on solution for 5-lug wheels. If I remember right, Corvetter rotors made it impossible to keep the stock parking brake, or something goofy like that.

Just remember to do lower belt tensioner BEFORE installing the radiator - Creative Steel mounts: This will lessen the parade clunk . . .but as stated earlier, live with it - Drain and fill the diff (stock diff juice is fine) - LS7 clutch and flywheel: When it's time to do the clutch, get all LS7 stuff and dump that dual mass junk That's the last thing on the list for my V. HOPEFULLY, I don't have to replace the driveshaft as I getting a low freq sound in 1st-4th gear and noise and vibration in 5th and 6th. It's similar to what my BMWs did when a new center support bearing is needed. Of course on the V, it is non-serviceable item. The only fix is a new or aftermarket driveshaft starting at $800 and goes up from there.

For that center bearing try spraying some Sea Foam Deep Creep on that bearing. Its 100% oil that will not burn off unlike WD40. Read that on a forum and do it every oil change ever since. Has worked like a charm over 20k miles later.

Congrats, pretty much a twin to my former 05 V. I loved the hell out of mine, and it was a killer street car. Just roll on the throttle and enjoy banging through the gears, if you can find them.... Forget dumping the clutch and hard launches, it's not worth grenading the rear, and you're not really missing much anyway, the way the car pulls in 2nd gear is incredible!

Mine when I first brought it home:

^^^ This. The parts are easy to find and take-off wheels are even easier. They look pretty good with the stock 20" Camaro wheels, as odd as that sounds...

Badass, didn't know you could get a Team Dynamics wheel to fit the V, yours looks killer in black.
