The older dodges you would insert the key into the ignition and turn to the on position 3 times within 5 seconds On-Off-On-Off-On. and the check engine light would being the seld diagnostics procedure, I'm not sure what year this works up to though.
It still works on first gen neons, never tried on a van though.
That should work on most if not all the mid 90's Mopar, jeep, and some Mitsubishis.
First of all, thanks for the tips. I'll try the key method when my firendf with the van has some time. Didn't want you guys to go unrecognized.
