I've never heard of one of these. I'll have to find out more about them.
Built in Brazil on a VW platform. They were imported into Canada years ago, but I don't think they were available fully assembled in the US, just as a kit.
The coupe is, in my opinion, quite attractive. There were a number in Toronto in the early 80's in the neighbourhood where I lived.
Probably one of the most attractive kit cars - ever. They made their humble underpinnings acceptable.
There was a dealer a block or so from my house at one time and I used to go in and drool. The fact it was VW based was all I needed to know to not really want one, but I marveled at the quality and finish for the kits. I'd built a number of VW based kits in the past and this felt like a real car, not like a kit.
Nice looking cars but no way I'd pay 5K for it. You can definately see styling cues from several Italian cars. I see some Alfa and Ferrari for sure.
Wow, that blue one above looks outstanding. Very 275 GTB.
I wonder how easy a WRX engine goes into one of these...

Sportscars Unlimited used to sell those in Clarkson ONtario when I was a teen. Seemed sexy enough back in those days. Wonder how you go aobout bolting a subaru engine out back?
Since every Vanagon is getting a Subaru engine as we speak, I'm going to guess it'll be a pretty easy swap with lots of parts available.
I always felt the nose was a bit unfinished - see below. A bit of work with an airdam and they'd look far better. The blue one above must be an older one, I don't think I've seen that before. There is (was?) one here in town that belonged to a friend of mine, and I remember seeing them in Canada as a kid too.
Looks like they changed in the late 70's/early 80's. Here's a much nicer nose treatment. That's a good looking little car. Anyone else see the Mk1 Elise in the lights?
The blue & yellow ones are sure cool enough, but is it wrong that I like the Testarossa-ish tail lights on the red one more?
