I don't disagree that a cam'd 4.8 that revs to the moon and makes 450hp would be easier and better engine. I just don't think that is right for this truck. The sound is off, and it looks wrong in that empty engine bay. I have 5 wires in there that are used. I like that!

I have a complete set of l98 aluminum heads off my 89 c4 challenge car. What are they worth? appear to have recent decent valve job. Also have spare edelbrock dp performer intake if you need that...dirty but lightly used.
I'm switching to a later model vortec 350 for my challenge car due to bottom end problems with old engine.

It's cost more to get them shipped than anything. I'd have to rethink my piston choices too with that tiny 58cc chamber.

pete Gossett is coming back up to Illinois in mid May. He said he'd bring em up if you want to try L98 heads. Aren't they good for torque? if you could use stock roller cam or tpi intake you're welcome to that. I wouldn't hesitate to use these heads as is. Worked fine on c4 when I pulled them a few months back. Plus will be a CHEAP CHEAP GRM discount
oh yeah....have almost new 30 over pistons.
Hmmmmm....... I still have my old C4 TPI cam (not thatI'm going to use that tiny thing). I do need pistons too...... damn it. What's the dish on those? I guess if it doesn't make enough power I could always have them ported. That
Shoot me a price. I may have to rethink this.

lol...what ya interested in besides heads? only thing I'm using from this motor is oil pan and oil pump/pickup. Have no clue on dish on pistons. Give me a call and I'll give you run down on motor and everything I've been able to ascertain. (six oh won) 6 7-two 44 8 4

any particular time to not call?
In reply to Ovid_and_Flem :
I’ve tried calling but it always goes to “ the caller you are trying to reach is not on the network at this time” or something similar.
If the seats are so far out of whack that they need to be lapped, they really need to be CUT.
I'm not a fan of lapping for any reason, if the cut is good then it is good, if it's off then lapping just gives you a bad cut with grit embedded in it.
I've never seen "built" heads that had decent valve stem seals, either, even from Brand E.
