I am looking at a Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo for my wife, it has a couple of minor issues, bad fuel gauge and alignment. The one thing that bothers me is a whine from the front end, is this likely a diff issue or something else? I haven't seen or driven it yet.
It is the V8, any idea on mileage?
Never owned one so any info welcome.

The 5.2 will get you about 15-17mpg at best.
The Dana up front is known to normally have bad carrier and pinion bearings, especially with some mileage. I hated to do them. Also could be a bad hub. Check the tires for cupping. They can make a front end sound like the bearings are bad.
