Sure, photos are fun. Sadly I no longer own the Subie.
my all time favorite color on the GD-chassis RS's. if i ever repaint mine, that's at the top of the list.
Why did I look in here?
I do not want to build a rallycross RX-8, I want to get my street car ready and sell this thing.
Yes, it is fun. Sadly, I no longer have the Outback - replaced with a WRX that I DD, so I don't rally-X it. (Our course gets really rough after 40-60 cars run it.)
Here is another guy having fun!

Indeed, little more than an unplowed farmer's field. I ran them back in 2005-ish. Of course, that was a 3 hour drive for me, both ways. Summit should be half the distance. Have you run at Summit yet? I'll be curious to experience how it compares.
I cut out my own rally practice track at home on a couple of acres. Definitely a course that rewards skill over speed, dodging trees and the wife's vegetable garden. It's not flat either.

Please be close to Raleigh

I ran Orange back in 05 as well, had a silver STi at the time, I've been to summit (back at the first event there), there's definitely a ton of space for long courses there, honestly the amount of course workers is the only reason that courses aren't 4-6 minutes. There's a Latin American group out at summit that does rally sprints that are pretty sweet. They have a 2-4 mile loop that they run as a circuit with cars released every 20 seconds.
I'm just outside of Baltimore now as well, Orange would be a drive if it were to ever reopen, but a drive that'd be worth it imo.
That looks like a bunch of fun.
As of 11/06/13 8:25 EST, I am offically in the market for a rallycross vehicle.

Excellent! What part of the country are you in?

Cool, should be some good opportunity for rallycross around there I would imagine. If not come on up to Raleigh, next event is Nov 17th!
I remember that Subie! Cool. You don't recall my green 122 Volvo? Only one there. ;-)
Rallycross is more fun when it turns into a plowed field.

I do remember the the green Volvo, I'll fire up the old laptop sometime and pull up all of the old pictures as I'm sure that i have some of it as well. I've considered getting a 240 to play with once i'm done prepping the 323. (or once i sell the DSM)

I have some old pics somewhere, too..probably, like you, on a laptop sitting in a corner collecting dust.
If you want to get serious and campaign a real volvo (122), I can help you get started cheaply. A 544 or 1800 would be a fun ride, too.
