I happen to have a couple of the former sitting around as spares for the rallycross car. And I happen to see a LUV on CL with no drivetrain. Can't seem to find any engine bay measurements, nor do I know jack about these little trucks, but always thought they were kind of cool. A nice 75% bump in power could be fun.
And yes, I'm sure it's a rustbucket lol...
They have been fitted with Chevy 350s before. Not sure if that helps with sizing.
I'm hoping someone just says "no chance," since I have no idea why I'd want to do this anyhow, except I'm bored as hell and need a project car that is small, cheap, and interesting so I can get bored with it in 6 months and sell it off for what I bought it for after spending a thousand dollars on it, lol.

Yep. My father in law still talks about the one he put a 283 and powerglide in.
I think there is plenty of room in this world for some BMW Luv action.
You should definitely do it.

Turbo Ecotech and 5 speed from a colorado. I think those bolt up like in the solstice...?
Guy in town has one there swapping a 4.3 into. There not massive but have a decent sized engine bay.
hmm....I may have to investigate this one and see what the rust situation is....
I've also seen one with an LSx swap. It would be a good time. Mini-trucks are cool
Anything will fit if you do enough fab work. Fortunately, you won't have to do too much.
It's an Isuzu P'up. I bet you'll have no issues fitting an M42 into it.
