Lexus has released it's M4 fighter, they've said 450+hp/8 speed tiptronic in the press release that EVO magazine is quoting. Yes the grille is super huge and ugly, maybe the aftermarket will save us, or they'll snap out of this audi induced huge grill mania and facelift it. Gauges are a TFT screen like the LFA. Hopefully alcantera interior is an option. I want one.

I guess if you've tried and failed to beat the M3, you might as well bail out of that and go after the M4.

Looks great from any angle where the front end isn't visible. Front end may be the worst I've seen in decades for a high-end performance sedan....gross.

Dash and steering wheel look like they'd be more at home in a Nissan pickup truck. Seats look dandy though.

I'll take two please

I'd be fine with just an RC, but wouldn't mind if it had an "F" at the end either.

They're not bailing on the IS-F at all, just adding a coupe version, and "failed" depends on your point of view I guess. Those cars are Very closely matched in terms of performance, I'd wager less so when it comes to long term cost of ownership.

Could you guys imagine trying to clean all the bugs out of that grill after a night time summer drive? What the hell were those guys thinking?

I think I'd do swap it to IS-f front if I had the dough to buy an RC-F

The more recent Lexus models have been pretty ugly... but that one is so outrageous I think it actually makes it more attractive. However, a California front plate is just going to RUIN that gaping maw...

I didn't really mean bailing on the IS-F as a model. But it's clear that the IS-F isn't going to take over as the class-leader from the M3, or even close.. Even in this area, which has tons of bucks and tons of Lexus(s) driving around, it's a rare day I see an IS-F. e46 M3s are a dime a dozen here, and I see a couple e92s a day pretty much any day, not even remotely unusual.

The M4 is the old M3, I'm confused by this statement.

Either way, I actually love the over-the-top aggressive look. I don't like that it doesn't have a proper DCT gearbox.

Jalopnik, in a rare moment of insight noted today that various great high-end performance cars are in fact being offered by the manufacturers, but that very few of them are actually being purchased. This leads me to think that, alas, while we complain about grilles, and cannot afford these cars anyway, they won't be available much longer.

At this price why would I pick this over it's competition like a M3?

They should be building an affordable GT at Toyota to compete with the Mustang or some kind of a RWD Coupe with a Turbo I6 to compete with the 135i at $40,000 (they had that exact car in 1993). Not these unaffordable nonsense cars they make.

Toyota to me is a dead company to me. They produce nothing of interest aside from the FRS which I could get from Subaru. In fact Japanese companies in general are producing nothing but malaise garbage right now IMO. MS3 competes with it's rivals, WRX kind of does, Miata and FRS are kind of in their own class.... but that's pretty much it. Rivals produce better cars in every other segment and Japan has abandoned many segments like affordable GT cars aside from the 10 years behind 370z.

They think they are Germans now with these cars. They are not Germans. They need to produce affordable performance cars. Not luxury performance only.

Umm... what?

Leave it to Lexus to make a BMW look like the "affordable" option...

So the RC is now listed on Lexus' website now. The MSRP for the RC 350 with 306 hp, 8 sp auto, 28 mpg (rwd) is $42,790.
