The MR2 needs an oil catch can. The gen2 MR2s like mine are notorious for oiling up the intake tract (which mine does) and the recommended way of dealing with it is fitting a catch can. Or drop in a gen3/gen4 engine, but the oil catch can is cheaper .

What I would like is:

  • Good quality, doesn't have to be cheap, quality is more important
  • Baffled, so I don't have to futz about with pot scrubbers
  • Fairly small as there isn't much room in the MR2's engine bay

Suggestions?

I've been very pleased with the Radium Engineering air/oil separator catch can I have for my FR-S...

Moroso makes some nice ones that have something like a pot scrubber built in...it's a stainless honeycomb mesh (same as the Radium units in fact). And they advertise in GRM.

42 Draft Designs has a nice selection. I used one on an FI motor I converted to a dual Webber, because I didn't want to vent the crankcase back into the intake.

I have a single port vented Moroso for sale in the classifieds. Used it on the MX6, seemed to work quite well. Looked like pot scrubber stuff in there.

If you want super baller, the Radium stuff is so nice it hurts.

Radium Engineering is/was on my radar, I was just hoping for additional recommendations. Thanks for the additional ones, I'll go research those once I have the car back and can figure out where to put the thing.

@SF1, unfortunately I need a dual port one as I just want to plumb the can in between the cam cover and the intake as per OEM, just without a lot of oil mist hitting the turbo and intake.

Gotcha, i moved to a dual port vented because i needed to delete my PCV entirely.

There's some other companies that make something very similar to the Radium piece without the Radium markup, i'll try to sift through my brain/notes and see what i can find.

But they're solid, and their stuff is beautiful.

Ooh, also looking for one - preference for rectangle 1qt - with a horizontal design

My coworker is using one of the Radium like ones for his Grand National...I'll see which one he has as well.
