I have a 2005 Toyota Tacoma that only sees occasional use and it's due for some fair weather tires. I plow with it, so from November through March, it wears a set of Winter tires, so I'm all set there.
While it does get the call for the random trip to the dump or Home Depot, my main concern is towing my car trailer to the race track, usually 100+ miles.
I know very little about truck tires. Any suggestions?
BF goodrich TAs. I have them on both the pickup and mercedes and they wear very well. About 65$ per tire at cosco.
+1 to that. I'm running BFG Long Haul T/As on the Bronco, and they were what came on my spare set of wheels for the 5.0. I've had no issue with them as a DD tire and Costco sells them cheap.

I have heard good things about these. I am going to put them on my Nissan Hardbody
Kumho Road Venture KL51's. Just spent 4600 miles on them and couldn't be happier.

I'm rocking treadwrights on my truck and they've served me well. I don't tow anything with my truck but the tires have been plenty durable for me. Hundreds of miles offroad (at speed and crawling) and no problems to report so far. They are HEAVY though. My 265/75-16s on Tacoma wheels weigh around 80 lbs each.
I've run the Bridgestone/Firestone Destination A/T with very good results. Tirerack.com reviews match my results. In fact that's the basis of my choice to run them.
The Bridgestone/Firestone Revo also has good recommendations.
Currently running some Hankook ATs, downright amazing rain traction. Every bit the match for the Destination AT.

+1 have them on the Ranger, quieter than Goodyears, nicer ride, gooooooood threadwear, I tow the XR4 from time to time... Oh, did I mention they're priced right?
Running BFG Commercial T/A's on the front of my '85 C-30 Dooley. When the rears need replacing I'm going with the BFG Commercial Traction T/A's. Good tire for the money.
I had this same question a few months ago. I settled on BFG Rugged Trails, and I've been very happy with them. Road noise is no worse than the old Yokos it had (nothing else to compare to), and the wet grip has been superb. I haven't so much as squealed a tire, and no sign of hydroplaning, etc.
Bridgestone Revos are my favorite truck tire, bar none... but I've lately been buying Fuzions (which I've been told are the same tire with slightly different tread design... which IME is accurate... if compared to the P-rated Revos... the LT Revos are a much tighter handling/riding tire and for any towing duties would be my reocmmendation despite the significnat price difference over the Fuzions. For light duty wok, it would be the cheap but excellent Fuzions.)

I thought the Bridgestone A/T Revos I had on my Jeep were a great tire for everything: towing, great in the wet, good in the snow, good for not-too-muddy off roading, they did everything well and lasted well, too
i love the Firestone Transforce AT's i got for my 3/4 ton Chevy last winter.
I've been checking on tires for my Nissan PU (195/75-14) and the pickings are slim.
Uniroyal Laredo HDs on my E-250. On my second set. The first set went 90K. Not cheap, but long lasting and decent ride for a load range E tire. I just put a set if Maxxis Bravo commercial tires on my Tow Beast. They were the highest weight rated 15" tires I could find. So far so good, but I only have about a thousand miles on them so far.
