I have succumbed to the GRM hive mind and I now own a Miata!
Bought this '99 Sport with 123K miles today for $4000
It's a central Florida car with no rust. The paint is a bit scruffy in person, but still has a lot of potential.
Drove it back the hour and a half home today with the top down and heater on. Loved every minute.
That looks pretty nice for the money. Good job!
Looks rather nice, and a decent price compared to what we pay out here.
Last Miata I saw close to me that was for sale.. was 10 years older and a thousand dollars more expensive

Same up here. I would love an NB.
Very nice score.
that's a great choice. i think the time to get an NB has come. they're no more than a nice NA around here.
Sweet ride. NBs are quite "pretty" -- especially without any cladding or kit. Nice score.
I'll let myself be assimilated if someone offers to sell me one with a 302 under the hood.

Good work! It's also a good color. I can't stand the Dark Teal or whatever they call that terrible shade of Green that's common on that year.

The green color that 99s came in is Emerald Mica. It's a dark metallic green, hardly teal. :)

I love Emerald Mica. I think he was talking about this color:

I think he might be thinking of twighlight blue mica. It's pretty dark and looks greenish at some angles. They used that color on the '97 STO and the 99-00 cars. Not a bad color when teamed up with the saddle color leather interior. I really like the sapphire blue used on the 99 10th Anniversary Edition, but I don't like the blue/black interior and I really don't like how the 6 speed shifts.
This is my second black '99 miata so I guess I like 'em. Was glad to find one with the sport package this time around.
Hey, I'm a guy, colors aren't exactly my forte'. It's the Emerald Mica that doesn't work for me. I think that in general, NBs are the best looking Miata, with some styling influences from the Third Gen RX7s.
OTOH the Carousel at Laguna Seca has a way of making any car look great!

You're crazy! Emerald Mica is a great color. And is nothing like teal - light, dark, or otherwise. :-)

I agree about the NB styling -- I bought mine brand-new for exactly that reason. I was hoping for BRG, but this was the closest I could get. :)
You mean the Corkscrew. The Carousel in northern California is at Sears Point.

Thanks, I was racking my brain trying to think what corner at Seca was considered the "carousel".
And OP, I'm jealous; I just missed out on a $1k '97 STO by about 15 minutes.

$1K for a STO? That's just nutty. That's like buying a Sunburst Yellow for $500

That is absolutely beautiful.
Yah, Corkscrew is at Laguna Seca, an absolutely epic corner if you do it right. Wouldn't want to do it wrong though.

I would say that Emerald Mica is aqua...and I would also agree that it is quite ugly. But to each his own, right?
And. I. Hate. Y'all.

The tan interior is unrelated to the exterior color. In 99 Miatas, leather seats were tan, and came with tan interiors, cloth seats were black.
