With there abandoning you tube they have all but disappeared from my world. Sad as I liked them but I don’t like them enough to subscribe to them. There is plenty of other add supported content out there to fill the void.
I really thought they had a great future with add supported broadcasts and would eventually end up on cable in real time. Instead they end up disappearing to pay to play with painfully old dated episodes in rerun on velocity.
It would be interesting to know if there chosen path has worked or if they are fading in relevance.
I've been subscribed for a while now. I consider it worth it to me but full understand if others don't.
Also this subject seems to get screamed at friebueger multiple times every time he posts anything on Instagram. He keeps saying he's not the one that made the call to leave YouTube and isn't the one to decide to go back either.
I subscribed for the $25/year deal. I'm impressed with it, they have a lot of content out there. Will I renew in a year at full price, $50? Not sure, but probably.
I’ve only started watching it recently on Velocity, so there should be enough content out there to keep me happy for a while. As usual, I was late to the party.
They still put up some free content on the Motor Trend site.
In reply to stuart in mn :
My understanding is all of what was free on YouTube is free on their site now. New episodes are delayed a month behind what paid subscribers get. I honestly haven't checked because I was a paid subscriber before they made the switch.
I downloaded the motor trend app for my xbone. Doesn't seem to want to work...
My family enjoys the shows. If i can get it to work, ill probably pay.

Having to download your app to view your content is a dealbreaker for me.
Paying to view your content is unlikely as well.
Get your revenue the old fashioned way through ads, or you don't get my eyeballs.

Do you do prime video? If so you can subscribe that way and use the Amazon app.

I want to like Roadkill but sometimes it seems like they're building things cheap and crappy out of pure laziness.
I loved roadkill. I also loved dirt everyday. And head to head before they canned Jason Cammisa. I won't watch any of it anymore for the same reason I don't have cable anymore. It's not worth the cost to me. I wish them the best but they are not getting any money from me.
Really though, Jason Cammisa is the only way I could stand Head to head because that other guy made me want to punch the TV every single time he talked. I do not like him and will not watch him.

Lost the thread when they moved. So did I.
I did enjoy the show while it lasted.

I subscribe, I like Roadkill, but Roadkill Garage is more my speed, since I always enjoyed the build more than the road trip/payoff. Not to mention the velocity shows on MToD, so in my option it's plenty of bang for the buck, I spend more than that on soda in a month.

If I have prime, does motor trend cost me extra?

I've been mad at roadkill since the ziptie drags the year pat and Andy went.
In reply to Mndsm :
It was $4.99 a month when I signed up.
It seems they've been doing a few episodes with Dulcich and Frieburger or Tony Angelo and Finnegan. Probably because Tony and Finnegan both moved back east.

I am.....soooo oldpeople schmarded with F'brger and his trusty sidekick tho they do crazy E36M3 there,,,, why would I be the least bit
interested in whatever??? especially when one can sloth here and take it all in with numerous and various walks down the numerous threads that are currently active .....thanks y'all
There's enough quality free automotive content available that asking people to pay is a hard sell.
I was thinking that there strategy was a money grab from velocity. Sad as it seemed that they were on the way up and I bet they could have got a much better deal if they just kept it going for a while. Maybe they never wanted that. I don’t blame them if that is the case.
I’ve been paying for it since before it left YouTube. It’s worth it. I don’t have cable, it’s a waste of money anyway.
The folks that complain are likely spending 5$ a month on other frivolous vices.
Priorities sure are amazing.

I wish I had $5 a month to spend on frivolous things.
Roadkill is still free. It's the same way it worked on YouTube; pay to be one episode ahead.
I subscribe to motor trend on demand. I also follow (subscribe on youtube at no cost) several youtube creators. I have heard them complain about the censorship, youTube removing video, and delaying payment. Because they mentioned other platforms or subjects in their videos. Sounds a lot like MTV control of the music industry in the 80's. Frieburger stated that MT wasnt comfortable investing money in videos and turning control over to youtube to do as they pleased.
