Cross referencing the Mega Millions lotto thread.  This HAS to happen, but unfortunately I doubt that the SCCA would let it.  Time for a new sanctioning body.

Don't forget Reliant three wheelers are all (front) mid engined.  They aren't as bad as Clarkson would have you believe.  This is a stick one and I bet the bike engine and box are smaller, lighter and thus even better for rear weight distribution

In reply to Adrian_Thompson :

I don’t have a clue what “proper” front suspension geometry should look like on a trike, but that looks wonky as E36 M3.

Maybe if you convert it into the poor-man's Delta Wing?  Put two wheels in extremely close proximity to each other up front...And while you're at it, maybe set the motorcycle engine in a 'sidewinder' configuration where the passenger seat usually goes.

Man I know the Robin is built to a price point but it looks incredibly crude!

I even went looking to see what the narrowest R comp tires was for that reason.  I was hoping to find a 145 ish width, but nothing available.  I know that UK racing uses 135 80/15 tyres, but I don't know what compound they are.

There's no lateral locator on that rear axle is there?

Holy cow, you're right.  The other images I can find show leaf springs, but that's certainly a four link trailing arm so it needs either a panhard or watts link.  I don't know if that is a later car or a conversion that's not finished.  Off to search for answers.

Ha, I think I've found it.  It's the angle of the picture.  Look at this one taken from a different angle.

Notice the lower link at about 45deg from the center line.  That's the lateral location.  There's a name for it that I'm forgetting, but it's similar to what the early 50's C type jags did, and that was good enough to win LeMans in 51 and 53

Bias ply, but probably the narrowest stuff out there.

Hmm.  I'm not convinced that adding power fixes any of the Robin's real problems.

If the rear wheels never gain traction they can’t bite & flip it over, right?
