For the truck project, a 1972 GMC.
The steps are, I gather:
1: Install rubber gasket around windshield
2: Put glazing putty in groove where the body pinch weld touches (outside groove)
3: Put rope in same groove, leave dangling edges after crossing, tape to inside of windshield
4: Put glass in place, slowly pull rope to seat rubber gasket on inside of truck cab
I get it.
But doesn't the glazing stuff (Which I do hear of people omitting, but I would like to include) get all over the rope and therefore all over the glass on the way out? Does it clean easily?
Any other tips or tricks are welcome.
