I keep my phone in my pocket or within reaching distance.  My garage is external and no one would ever hear me yelling.

This. Also, after a friend of a friend berkeleying DIED under his car with his wife & kids standing there, not knowing what to do aside from dialing 911, mama knows how to use a jack.

I always throw a spare tire or 2 under the car that I am working on.....

I do not trust the jack  or cheap jack stands ,

and  yes I am normally at home working alone.....

Stay safe.....

Grandma Stampie got worried about this a bit ago. I had a conversation with Lil Stampie and feel confident he knows to call 911 then put the phone down while he jacks up the car.

I don't have bad luck,  I have E36 M3 luck. I'll probably be crushed underneath a vehicle.  My only hope is that it's quick.

I'll keep the jack slightly lowered while the car is on jack stands. Depending on what I'm doing and if I can get away with it, I keep the jack stands at their lowest height and just deal with it. If a tire comes off and there's any sort of space, it's going under the car. I'll still push on the car to ensure it's snug and not going anywhere (for the most part).

I absolutely refuse to get crushed by my damn car. If it's gonna kill me, it better be much cooler than that.
