Just came across this today:

The majority of people appear to hate the look of it, and I can understand that, but I can't help thinking that it looks awesome!

I can't help thinking pizza.
Subjectiveness aside...The design quality, attention to detail, and level of execution that the students achieved is nothing short of amazing. Especially on such a short timeline. I'm sure they have resources most of us could only dream of, but that doesn't take anything away from their professional level of accomplishment.
I think it looks good, but I can see how the ultra-thick pillars could make people hate it - the cabin reminds me of an armored truck.
I like the Sbarro GP better though:

There's still one in the I90 reststop near rockford last I was there 2-3 months ago.

They declared bankruptcy about a year ago and then came out of bankruptcy with new owners. They also went bankrupt a few years before the latest time. A bunch of stores closed, but a bunch still exist.
I am really liking this. I have always had a thing for modern styled hotrods. Something about taking a classic shape that everyone is familiar with and SLAMMMING it into this decade. Anyone remember this?
I like the Sbarro better than the Donkervoort.
I always like to see student- designed cars. They usually seem to be thinking new, fresh ideas, before they've been corrupted by on the job corporate design philosophies. The ACCD Transportation Design students are the best, in my opinion. However, the Sbarro students seem to be especially creative, although in an odd sort of way, and not always to my liking. But I do like this one, although the tail light design seems to be cribbed from a Cadillac CTS, which is unusual to make it through instructor critique.
Keeping in mind its primary purpose as an executed "Design Study", I think it does a great job.
As a transportation module that I would want to drive every day...not so much.

It hardly works out though.

One bad execution hardly means that it can't be done. Also, the prowler would have kicked ass if Chrysler hadn't put a V6/auto in it. A V8 manual combo would have made it a much better seller.
