I really dislike this still being a "joint" thing, and especially using the term "rally."
What is "rally" referring to? Rallycross? TSD? Rallysprint (yeah, SCCA actually does those, not that you'd ever know). Calling SCCA RallyCross "Rally" is like calling Solo "Road Racing." They're not the same thing, even if they are related in some ways. SCCA is doing itself a disservice pretending otherwise. When people hear rally they assume caged cars and hitting trees - and we want to market rallycross as something you can "do with your daily driver without fear."
Why does it always feel like with SCCA, throwing the word "rally" in there is a catch-all for "all that other crap that isn't Solo or Track."
Anyhow, hope he does something good for the non-Solo groups. Guess we'll see.

Rallycross and rallysprints are what they're referencing and it was largely dismissed by Eric during the interviewing process. Don't expect big things, or well, things.

I never do from SCCA.
I'd be happy if they just let me reduce my annual membership by $5 in exchange for not sending the garbage Sportscar magazine to my house.
Mike comes with the praise of every longtime national autocrosser I know. I'm excited to see what his direction is for the programs moving forward.
If stuff is going to change then we need to have new faces and approaches to making the sausage.

You got that right! Congratulations and best of luck to Mike in his new role. And to Howard Duncan, who gets back to the field work that he loves, making great events happen.
I autocross a Fiesta ST. Imagine my surprise when 2-time HS national champ (in a Fiesta ST) Mike Kings gets in as my instructor at the Starting Line school! Mike is clearly talented behind the wheel, passionate about advancing the sport and getting people involved, and you won't meet a nicer guy. He will be good for the program for sure.
